holly12345
Help please, I have a potential customer who has lost all there keys for a Honda accord v reg, they tell me it has a separate 2 button remote also factory fitted alarm. Is it possible to use a normal chipped key on these or will it need the separate remote to immobolize the alarm.
decker
You will get away with just a standard key. Honda of this period seem to vary somewhat, The last v reg i did was as follows: with your mvp you will probably need the 5 pin lead for blue connector - to programme a ID48 chip under honda systems - type 5. Back to your previous thread on which forums to use for info, which several members seem to take offence at. This is a prime example of doing a search on the specific forum would give you all the information you need. Just a thought, and the best way to gain info. PS - not asking for any flak off any members.

Give it a go mate and we will see who is correct. I am pretty sure the alarm will stop as soon as you turn the key.
holly12345
I take it the normal key would be a 2 button chipped key.

decker
I take it the normal key would be a 2 button chipped key. it would origionaly come with a chipped key and seperate remote but i am talking about just using a standard non remote key with chip in it. only added this smiley, because my grandson told me i had to. StevenB
We could do with a trade area maybe ? Once again, not all people in this discussion are trade area users, so wouldn't see the discussion. H, Its a trade question asked in the Day to Day Key cutting area. Is there anything in this discussion that is sensitive trade information that the public shouldn't see (should they be so interested?). If we were talking trade prices, you'd have a point, otherwise I don't see a problem with this particular discussion. Having said that, I'm not really into car keys at all, so if there's something I'm missing, please feel free to point it out, by PM if necessary (though it could be argued I'm seeing it from a 'public' perspective as it's not my area, and I still can't really see what the problem is). completelocks
Once again, not all people in this discussion are trade area users, so wouldn't see the discussion. To be honest, why would anyone not in the trade be asking about, or even have knowledge of programming car keys? I think an auto locksmith trade section may be in order, or even just an Auto locksmith section, then if a trade sensitive question comes up, lee will move it to the trade section as he does. Lee, are you getting this?
Bovey
I did a spare key to a Honda Accord X reg the other day. Both the original and my additional key were standard non-remote keys. No problems with the alarm.
derek
don't see why some people are getting their knickers in a twist here, genuine questions have been asked, if you don't want to help the person posting the question then i recommend not posting anything at all, quite simple really

Saying there is no need for a separate section, as you can find all the info you require here, is surely like saying we should just have one forum section with no different 'rooms', as you could find all the info on anything you wanted there. I don't see the idea of a separate section for Auto locksmithing an unreasonable idea. It is a part of the business for a lot of memebers here, and it would certainly get used, a lot. Count Muppet
I never look at seperate sections, I click on view unread posts, then pick and choose what I want to look at. I normally look at everything as there isn't a massive amount since I last looked. If I can't comment and have nothing useful to say I normally keep quiet. Lee
The trade section is a specific area for trade sensitive inquiries. everyone in the trade group has given their information, not as a way to police it but to confirm they are a genuine business.
