What is the point!!!

Recommended Posts

Been one of those days ](*,)

I've had about 6 enquiries for car keys and every one has sucked through there teeth with a " just for a car key", then I realised that T 5 shops away are doing the half price car key deal

Then someone comes in for euro cylinders, when I get the box from out the back (still no sign of proper retail packaging?????) he says " I can get them on Ebay with 6 keys for less than that."

I checked on Ebay and they are being sold For about £2 more than DB are selling wholesale!!!!

I F***ING HATE RETAIL

Feeling the same here. Chin up though! It'll pass, these things always seem to go in runs. Don't let T get you down they can't keep it up for long! It's simply doesn't make business sense! They are ruining their own market. Do them that cheap and people will expect them to stay that price and that isn't achievable. Even if they make a few quid on the keys they will still need to update the equipment in the future and at those prices it doesn't make financial sense. They're make a rod for their own back and unfortunately ours too in the short term. :?

I've now got a cracking supplier for Ford 3 button remotes & have done more in the last two weeks than the past 6 months, by reducing the price (but increasing the margin \:D/ ) I've also done a few cloned "I just need a key" keys this week. This despite having two Timpson branches within a couple of miles either way. Like Simes says things go in runs either way. Ride the waves dude, ride the waves.........

I did a Ford remote yesterday but it wouldn't program into the car. It wasn't a genuine Ford one but it was the last one I had while I was waiting for the genuine ones to come in.

Have you ever had any problems programming them in?

Is this a top secret supplier or can anyone find them?

Could be a vehicle problem. I've had a number of vehicles where the vehicle is at fault. On VAG vehicles it is often the Comfort Module. Not sure about what it could be on Ford. I usually send them to an Auto-electrician contact who fixes the fault and sends them back to me for programming.

The first time I tried it the immo light stayed on but new remote didn't work though old one did. When I tried a couple of times after the immo light wouldn't even stay on. :-k

Don't recall a chime at the time, but wasn't listening for one so may have missed it!

not all off them chime. don't forget to turn the ignition on after you've programmed & before you test them! other wise all your trying to do is program the same remote in, so when testing it appears not to be working, because your still in programming mode.

When you've done the key turns to get into programming mode and press the button on each remote should the locks cycle then or is it just press each remote then turn back to off, then try the remotes?

I've read some sites that say turn key from position O to II, others say II to O.

Which way round is it?

I'm going away this weekend for 4 days so the customer is not coming back until next week, I'll find out then  if the genuine remote doesn't work.

Lady just popped in to arrange for next week and the car is a Mondeo Ghia Estate, 54 plate.

i had problems doing a w plate fiesta this morning but got there in the end, and i think it took 3 turns to position 2 rather than 4, i was on the verge of jumping off the erskine bridge but got there eventually, oh and it was an aftermarket remote and the car chimed when i turned it the right amount of times

Might just as well sell the Miraclone now and give up with car keys!!

Girl just asked how much for a key only for a 2004 Ford KA - £65, T down the road £25 ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)

Now do I bite it and charge the same or a little under making less than a tenner on each, or stick with my prices and pick up the odd one here and there, or sell the machine and buy something that will actually get itself paid for within a reasonable amount of time because thanks to T I can't see this happening with the Miraclone.

Seems like they are struggling ( as most large multiples are ) but they want to take us all with them 8-[ :-#

i know how you feel michael, i have the ad100pro and have thought of selling that countless times in the last year, only you can decide if you ant to lower your prices, but i personally think £65 for a basic cloned key does seem high
