StevenB
A final point to illustrate how my customers regard timescales. Just had a lady in with a pair of shoes requiring stick on sole & rubber heel, plus a small split in the side patching. "When would you like them for?" I ask, "As soon as possible" she replies. "How about tomorrow morning?" I offer... "I'll pick them up Friday" she says. This isn't an isolated example, just how things are. \:D/ \:D/

chrisorros
Came into work at 11:30 first customer I served 3 pair LS RH we did them in 90 mins (properly) Customer came back for em, £120 in the till as well as collecting his dry cleaning.. Now that makes sense to me I don't mind doing same day repairs for LS RH but 3 in about 90 minutes, thats quick! =D> =D> I assume theirs a few of you in the shop? So you can get your head down and consentrate on them for that time scale.
St.Am92
I don't particularly like doing while-you-waits but will nearly always oblige. Sometimes, if you are busy, all thats needed is a bit of communication with the Customer..."I can get these Leather Soles replaced for you in around an hour, but if we get busy, you may have to be prepared to wait a little longer" =D> Thats what i say. Unless they are pyhsically waiting ,most customers "one hour turns into 1 1/2 -2 hours anyway" plenty of time to see to all other customers needs. Better the money in your till than your competitor's.
