grahamparker
Silca produce 2 keyblanks for renault and peugeot the ne72 (short) and the ne73 (long), on some renaults the pickup range is very small and you need to be as close as possible to the antanae for the vehicle to recognise the chip. We always use the ne72at5 and i can't remember having any problems with any we have done.
slippy
Used to have that problem on an old Colibri Unit with peugeot's aswell. Read and encoded the key but wouldn't start the car. Bought an RW4 & all was well. Now that system is getting out of date aswell (even with a plus box). Not to keen on the battery head idea. Was looking at an 884. First supplier to clone a id48 gets my vote
Lee
if all your doing is cloning then the 884's the one to go for, especially with the expanding remotes application list, although the remotes are still a bit of a grey area (i think its been brought out a bit so soon to be ahead of the competitors) the cloning is spot on. if however you want to put an odd chip in a ford remote & manually program that to a car (good bread & butter) then you can't beat the keycrypt. either way I think these two are now the market leaders for cloning only. grahamparker
ID48 cloning is the biggy for me to. If memory serves me correctly pete (lockdecoders) said they hoped to have it cracked by xmas over 18 months ago,he also said when the tpx4 is available it would only be a matter of time. Still waiting
lockdecoders
We are waiting for one of the big companies to make a transponder chip for the 48 cloning. We have given tech info to 2 of the companies concerned Showing them how to do it.

Keydoctor
remove the pcb from the case and squeeze the chip & gold bar hard while pressing read. (making sure you apply even pressure otherwise you risk damaging it further) Basically you are only getting a partial reading, not a full reading therefor only cloning part of the data required. In Zedbull & AD900, you know if you have a full reading when it displays the pin code, if you get a partial reading the pin code isnt displayed.
