k4mrc
Still having great fun with this - MIT8 - using cross reference keys, KL HD not working, seems they do not go in all the way why when we cross reference even though there sent from the wholesalers that cross reference them, are they the wrong blank? Gray
I've had problems with these, take the width of the shoulders down a bit they seem to wide to go into the lock. I don't mean the actual thickness of the key.

I don't mean the actual thickness of the key. Thats if you use the mit6r which is slightly thicker at the shoulder as well as been a little longer. Have you checked there isn't a part of a broken key in the lock ???. k4mrc
Mitsibushi Pajero J reg customer has given key number off car as 5573. Mitsibushi Pajero J reg I know tere is either a couple of numbers or Letter missing, any idea's ? this is not what it seemed, the Key number given 5573 is NOT the fecking key number - customer kept insisting 'key not entering lock' was absouloute B******s! the key went in! but did not turn, the "key number" was NOT the key number it was stamped on the back of the lever that turned - hence no letter E WTF. did this customer think? I have cut 5 keys, ALL went in but the customer failed to tell me the right number. now I am going to dismantle the barrel make a new ket and put it back together as there in no number to work to. How much would you now charge for this service?
grahamparker
Usually about £25.00 + vat,but after what you have already been through would probably charge £35.00 + vat. You don't always need to strip the lock down to make a key, if you can see the wafers through the side opening you can work out some of the cuts by inserting a blank then using software (SKP for me) enter the cuts you have then use the partial cuts option, this will then give you the correct key number as well. Or try impressioning can be hard to learn but a great skill to learn and you get a great sense of achievement when you get it right.
k4mrc
You don't always need to strip the lock down to make a key, if you can see the wafers through the side opening the lock that has been brought in is the petrol cap, and there is no side window to view, but there is also (i think) 2 levers missing so I am going to make a cutting tree and do it that way. The boot lock has a clear view of the wafers and I would charge £
