kobblers
Superglue is no good for sticking leather, it just hardens it up and then you have the problem of not being able to use other glue over the top plus hard bits of loose leather. As a filler and used the right way in combination with other products it gives great results no matter what the purists say Waxing it isn't a bad solution but it's not permanent and will still show that there was a mark there previously unless it's applied properly and I don't mean by a rotating brush. Gray
I was really trying to avoid the words "hardens it up" Rick.
rhian
i think overall this would probably be the best way to go for a permanent fix as i dont want to drastically alter the way the boots look. i know that you said before that super glue would not flex with the leather in the same way that a neoprene adhesive would, but that it would give a better finish; which one woud you recommend using if you had to pick one? i mean the majority of the scratches are over the toe box part of the shoe which doesnt really flex when walking. elfman
think on this stormsure or as it was once called freesole ,transprarent and flexable and a good filler . as kieth asked are the scratches or scuffs, which is what the hammereing would do. if there is no leather missing it is possable to knit the leather back together

Have used to good effect on splits in leather though, mainly on work boots but it isnt permanant.
