Anyone have any idea on where to get one of the wheels on the trimmer for the 700 finisher that takes years to wear out? The only way I can describe them is they are like a stone in place of the bottom wheel which lasts years, unlike the modern spira band things.

yeah i would be getting it through head office, but they can't get me something if they don't know where to get it from.

:? whats the problem with working for Timpson =;

sorry chap, i thought this was you "outing" me as the enemy

one of our shops has had a new mini band fitted and the bands aren't lasting very long, we were talking about one of our other shops that has one of the diamond wheels and we worked out it must have been on there at least 8 years without being changed and still works really well. the shop its in has easily been doing over £1200 a week on repairs over those years so thought it could save us a lot of money but no-one knew where it came from.

I knew one of you would know.

You are not enemy, thats a bit unfair to think that :D I will look into the wheel and sure I can pm the price but it might be just as easy to publish it as it wont be a secret. I will find out as much as I can and come back.

you've been looking at to many pictures of that bloke with the naff head mask on in TWN! Your in risk of becoming a "drongo" sucking in the corporate spiel & thinking like that!

You ain't the "enemy" Timpsons individual shops are most independents competitor, I wouldn't give to much help to any "competitor" locally to me, independent or part of a chain (unless they where paying me off course) On this site we are all a load of Cobblers! united by the desire to gain some knowledge that will ultimately strengthen the whole industry. each gaining credibility on there own merits not those of the company they work for ..srfr..

Never rated them that much, I prefer a tungsten cutter!
