Forest Cobbler
Morning all, Out of interest, do many of you change the batteries in radio controlled watches? And if so, have you experienced any problems? Valerie
Lee
I've replaced a few, only had a problem with one, but sorted it out & can't really remember what it was now! I do allow a couple of days to do them just incase they don't pick up a signal. Make sure you leave them by a window & they usually synchronize quite quickly depending on what signal they are looking for. Lee
Forest Cobbler
Getting a signal does seem to be the main problem, and having a tin roof doesn't help. We'll try keeping them for a day or two and put them out of sight in the window to see if that helps. Thanks.
Lee
it can take several hours for the to syc as some watches only look for the signal at set times. Lee
Gray
Can't you do the holding it to your head trick??
Forest Cobbler
I've just thought, we've got a metal shutter as well. So if the signal doesn't happen until after we've closed, even with the watch in the window we're probably still not going to get it. Generally we've had to give the watch back not going and hope that it picks up a signal once the customer gets it home. It doesn't inspire confidence. I'm almost inclined to turn them away, but I'd rather not. V
Lee
they are controlled by a radio signal which should pass through your walls shutters & windows! its not like gps that need to see a satellite but even then I've had some that pick up much quicker if there's less between them & the outside! ironplanet uk900
I seem o do a fair few radio controlled watches... I've had a few problems with them not picking up signal, or picking up signal, but being 20 minutes slow etc... TBH, I don't see the freakin point in em... I can put my watch right if and when I like, just a silly gimick me thinks.
