k4mrc
had a rep in telling me the cost of the euro is pushing material prices thru the roof! j.r.leather for instance is about 30% more, (glad i dont use it!) but where i usually haggle and buy quantity to get discount i struggled. any one else finding this? of course where this is the case it will have to increase our prices. do we put them up allowing for this or soak up the increases for when the pound gets stronger? (if i should say)
Danny King
Yep, Price of keys from SKS. Wanted a good price for a load of UL2. They said they couldn't move on the book price because of the Euro.

(if i should say) if the pound gets stronger , suppliers are not going to lower there prices, its just an excuse to raise prices, you need to put your prices up accordingly, little and often, by often i mean once a year.i have already had a price increace this year and i am thinking about putting another 10p on heels to cover the cost of not cutting my own heels,
keithm
If the exchange rate changes and the goods you buy in Euro become more expensive to buy, you have no choice but to increase your prices. So how is it an 'excuse' to put them up Anything supplied from the Euro Zone is now more expensive whether it's a top piece from Topy or a Machine from Hardo. Buy British and save pounds

windycity
sorry but is not philipps meant to be english or contessa i think is their brand name for nirtile top pieces and its a lot dearer than topy strong cut or strips. also why has wares gone up seeing as their tanned in england, benchmark heels have gone up loads recently and don't forget harbro rubber they are really taking the piss ask your wholesaler about them. oh i forgot the leather comes from euro land but i bet that leather was brought a long time ago. i wonder whether the increases in wares keeps down the true increase of jr leather. if you use high class as your choice leather soles or rather you used to they have gone up loads. a customer said to me on tuesday "you are pricing yourself out of the market, new shoes are dropping in price dramaticaly how can you justify charging £33.00 for leather sole and rubber heel" even though this repair was on a m & s pair of shoes and the third time i have repaired them.
