Hi,

Can anyone cut or get these. The one we need has a 3 stamped on the back. Would post pics but my bloody camera has just given up on me

need a bit more info but you should be able to cut as most of the restricted union keys are now de restricted i beleive the copyright pendent only lasts 10 years. without seeing the key i cant give much more help but did you try the union masters jma code un-8d or un8i.

if camera not working and you still have the customers key you could scan both sides and post the pic that way thats if you use a scanner for your engraving.

We would need to see a picture of it or you would need to check it against the blanks in our catalogue. Sorry we can't help with the information you have provided. Let us know how you get on though.

Hmm, could I usurp this thread, while it is inactive?

I have 2 inquiries for Union keys starting with a "C", followed by a 1 or 2 digit number.

Here is the pic of 1 of them. Union says, that there must be a masterkey somewhere, which has the full reference on it.

Best wishes,

Hi guys. Have shown this thread and the pics to our MD and we would need a letter of authorisation from the owner and the master suite reference. We can order them in but delivery would be approximately 6 weeks from receipt of order.

The key looks indeed dated, but it might still be patent-protected. Making a copy of the blank would thus be illegal.

On the other hand, Union says, even with the original key to hand, they would not be able to identify the blank or the mastersuite this belongs to.

Consequently, they would have no way to tell us, that the key is still patent-protected. Thus, copying it with the easy entrie machine should be fine.

the key is not patented is clearly says copyright 1989 this copyright law

was removed 1996 ish, so the key has no security whatsoever

why can't we get the blanks then? :?

we get loads of these keys over the year and no one wants to wait on the ordering system :!:

Basically there's not enough demand for the keys to warrent making the blanks. A key will typically have to sell at least a few thousand a year to be worth making it.

An Easie Entrie is usually the best choice with these.

what's the easie entrie?

As these have run out of copyright - (old keys) we to use the Easy Entrie machine to copy them for anyone .

Or order from Union 4 - 8 weeks delivery ! depends on how quick Union decide to be at the time of ordering them :?
