soles'n'eels
thinking of getting t-shirts made with my shop name on and maybe advertise engraving on the back anyone got any ideas, what do you wear in the shop when repairing
petercoulson
a few of my customers have t shirts and sweat shirts with advertising on the back which works really well as they are normally working facing away from the customer. this would work if they wore aprons as well. it is a good idea. Danny King
Hi We have polo shirts with company name on and also fleeces with the same. We find polo shirts look smarter than t-shirts and require very little ironing if any at all.
Peter / Sweden
You only have one chance to make a good first impression.... If you are a shoe repairer you should be dressed as one. Overall is for car mechanics etc..... T- shirt, looks cheap.... A CLEAN Polo shirt with advert ( not necessary) on back and a CLEAN leather apron is the right thing to use. Just my thought..... Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
Your back is one of the most looked at areas in the shop, use it wisely to advertise a service that you wish to promote. Do not put vague statements there like "ask us about***" as they never will. TELL THEM dont let them have to ask. It's a failing of most large companies M&S included, went in there a while ago and there were girls wearing badges that said "ask about our &More Card"(or something like that). My bet is that they did not get 1 customer asking the question. The golden rule is Tell them what you want them to know, dont rely on them to ask. Ive been in some shops where the girls have about 4 of these badges on with different messages. No chance.

Russell
Polo shirts are much smarter than t shirts. Just look at what all the big franchises wear. I have company name and basic services embroidered on the left breast. I also have business cards on the counter. On the reverse of the card is a list of all the services I offer. It is surprising how many customers pick up a card. I emailed the design to a printer in New Delhi and had excellent quality full colour cards done for a fraction of the cost here. keithm
Anyone running a business from behind a counter should look like he's meant to be there, imo. I always used to wear polo's and aprons with my Company logo/business name embroidered on it. All my staff had the same, it looks professional. Guest Iain Cheall
We have Polo shirts with logo embroidered onto left breast, We also have fleeces done the same. Got them from this place http://www.top-stitch.co.uk/ They are as cheap as chips as the embroidery is no extra.

ANDY
we have shirts and polo shirts both with a tattoo, instead of business cards I use up all my small off cuts to make key rings. I do also have a winter jacket with our logo on, but it has never been cold enough to wear it. it is however suitable for a trip to the arctic and I will be happy to sponsor an expedition.
