Hi Shoe Girl and welcome to the forum

Health and Safety here in the UK is a government department that is responsible for health and safety regulation in Great Britain. The Health and Safety Executive and local government are the enforcing authorities who work in support of the Commission.

Their mission is to protect people's health and safety by ensuring risks in the changing workplace are properly controlled.

Do you have a similar controlling body in the US?

We do, it's called OSHA. But OSHA doesn't really concern itself with the shoe repair industry. It may regulate the big manufacturers Im not sure. Im not complaining though...Im glad osha doesn't regularly inspect...i imagine most shoe shops would be outta business here if we had inspections.

thanks for welcome
