Stuart Eccleston Posted January 22, 2024 Report Share Posted January 22, 2024 Hi all, I'm struggling to get to grips with how to cut keys on my rst Mustang key machine especially after all the agro of finally getting a decent machine , a few questions, How do you know how deep to cut dimples on keys , I practiced on a Yale superior key blank but went way to big/deep , as in photos.also exactly where you cut the dimple ? I have so many tracers and cutters I'm not to sure what they are all for ? S K C Posted January 23, 2024 Report Share Posted January 23, 2024 Put tracer and cutter on top of jaw and tighten Alan screw, then pull down on handle so the tracer goes into the dimple and the cutter cuts accordingly. I'd ask them for some help in setting it up, you need to calibrate the cutter and tracer which is easy to do but not easy to explain on a few lines of text.
