Forest Cobbler
Hi We've got a customer asking if we could cut some replacement cabinet keys, and then weld/braze the original ornate heads in place of the new ones. Is this something any of you would even countenance doing? I know it's not something we could do even if we wanted to. Thanks
grahamparker
http://www.aldridgesecurity.co.uk/p-2352-silca-3m1630-fancy-pipe-cabinet-mortice-blank.aspx These are discontinued, but i would check suppliers for something like this rather than brazing/welding. They may be available as a special order still.
Silcaltd
Why not supply new keys with ornate heads? Silca have a large range of ornamental keys.

Forest Cobbler
We will probably end up doing that, but the customer wanted to explore the possibility of using the old heads first. Thanks, Valerie

Peter@CopyCut
Epoxy metal putty, I have used it once on a long broken safe key, you buy it as a little stick like plasticine, dries out nearly black. Strong like hell, customer never been back so it probably still works.
