CotswoldEngraver
As part of last year's 100th anniversary commemorations of the outbreak of WW1, I was involved in a local exhibition featuring the fallen heroes of Moreton in Marsh, as remembered on our town war memorial. The exhibition featured photos of the men and detail of their lives before and during the war, where they fell and ultimately where they are buried. As a legacy of the exhibition, a memorial plaque was comissioned to be sited in the war graves area of our local cemetery featuring not only the names already listed on the town's War Memorial but also those heroes that fell during WW1 and for one reason or another were never added to the War Memorial. A piece of portland stone was to be erected in the cemetery that was to feature a brass plaque listing all of the fallen heroes from our town. I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of The Heroes of Moreton organising committee to publicly thank Dean Edwards from The Engraving Company for producing the plaque for me . As the size of the plaque was far larger than anything my machines would take, Dean was kind enough to help me out and produced a stunning piece of work that was extremely well received by all attending when it was inveiled yesterday. More pictures of the finished memorial can be seen on the Heroes of Moreton facebook page https://www.facebook.com/heroesofmoreton Many thanks Dean for all your hard work! Lee
Cracking piece of work, but will still need someone to regularly polish it! I cycled past a plaque I did for a memorial cross for a car crash victim the other day, it was the same colour as the wood it was on. I might even put my T-Cut in my back pocket one day & stop & clean it.
