Miracle A9 ARRRGGGHHH !!!!!

Recommended Posts

Is anyone else out there having as many problems with their Miracle A9 as I am?

Since the day I bought it I have had nothing but problems with keys not cutting properly, card numbers not being present so I can cut to instacode codes.

I have spoken to Peter but all he can say is that 99% of the time it is operator error, that may be so but I was told that the A9 was better and easier than the A5, bullshit, it is more frustrating that's for sure. Just wished I would have kept my A5 and done all my LF keys by hand, after all that was the main reason I had bought it so I could do all my school locker keys by code.

Hi Alister,

I agree it is a must for car keys, I had a lady bring in a HELIX cash box with no key, it has the number 548 on it. According to instacode it is a YA18, now, the best way of cutting the key (according to Peter) is by the card number, this ensures that you have the correct key and the correct cuts. The card number is 534, its not on the A9 !!!!!!!

So my frustration starts, I go over to key search, I find YA18 and put in the cuts 23321, cut the key and it doesn't work, I have by this time torn what hair I have left from my head. ](*,)

Have I done anything wrong or is it the A9?

Hi Dave i did try and call you.

Did you update the console software a week ago

Did you then do a firmware upgrade?

Did you then do a full calibration?

Did you in the calibration menu do a clamp measurement? This is on the left and has a picture of a vernier.

There has been some major changes to the software and firmware and this needs to be done for it to work properly with the new functions.

This card number is in the new update.

The 3 in Ireland were amongst the original 3 and of these 1 we replaced and the other 2 had new tablets and motherboards fitted. All the rest have updated no problem and are working with the new firmware and console software.

It shouldn't have happened but as we have gone along we have found more weird keys we can do with it and this has necessitated a firmware update.

Is this richfolktalk? A Merc is better than a Skoda, no doubt.

The A9 puts dimplers into the reach of ordinary key-cutters. And that's cool.

To put it differently: If I can afford it, I will eat at Harrods every day. If I can't afford it, well, there is now a cheaper restaurant available.

An Instacode link-up would add some street-cred, I think.

yes but watch a youtube video of a a9 cutting a dimple key it will give you a good laugh. i dont think they could make it cut any slower if they tried. the machines motors aren't up to the job a silca machine will drill out the dimples fast and in one pass. the miracles motor aint powerful enough so it makes multi passes at each dimple very time consuming. if i was cutting dimple keys on it i would need to take on another employee just to cut them its that slow

The link would be nice. Hint Hint nudge nudge peter......... but in time that will happen.

Have you got a link to that video? Or can you check what speed the machine was at? With the company i'm with we have all had silca machine for years & years. I got told last year i was getting a A9 to replace my 399 i wasn't happy at first. I went to have a look & the A9 did alot more than i thought it would but i was worried about the speed. So Peter came to one of are shops with the A9 so we could check the speed against the Silca's & A9 was quicker for cylinder keys. Dimple keys take a little longer granted but if you push go on the machine you don't have to stare at it doing the work you can go & start doing over jobs. When doing ka cylinders, repin ect ect, what needs x more keys i tend to set the machine up & pin right next to it. The silca machines where a year old so they wasn't old machines. I've had a few problems myself with cards on the A9 but peter & neil have both been extremely help full everytime. Also the A9 does what two silca machine do.

Don't forget about the link to Instacode. Cough cough

yes you don't have to watch it cut but some days I cut over 50 dimple keys on my triaxi and loads of cylinder keys on my 399 evo if I was using a a9 their would be no time in the day to cut the cylinder keys even if I could finish the dimples before going home

It's ok the A9 small enough that you can take it home with you   If your doing that amount of keys daily i would have the silca machines in this branch as well. To be fair though is one machine going to be able to cut as fast as two machines cutting two keys at the same time. I would like to see if two A9's could keep up with a evo & triaxi. I don't think they would but i think it would be close.

i seem to remember there was issues at first with A5 machines , bugs and board issues , as with any newly released machine , in peters case credit where due , he does resolve these and get it spot on in end.

most i talk to are happy with their miracle A5 now , im sure when all bugs are ironed out as with any new technology most will also be happy with A9.

ive always used silca , but even with silca viper ive had issues , like peter , matt at silca has always resolved these quickly and efficiently , matt is the reason ive stuck with silca , superb tech support .

with your A9 issues , best advice is to work with lockdecoders , they will sort it and always do right by you if they can.

I will call peer today to try and get my issues sorted, I have done all he asked concerning the new update ,But, yet another problem has arisen, it now bleeps all the time. I feel that there may be a problem with the board. Maybe the best t.hing to do is to send it back to Lockdecoders and let them spend some time on it. I go on holiday on sunday so they can have it for a week.

Now there's a constructive comment about the subject.

Some people ought to take note.
