WH Software asked us to put this in for them as a prelude to full integration.

We have many people who have bought the A9 with just the dimple cutting on it and one customers cuts at least 60- 80 keys or more per day.

We have another customer who has only bought the domestic jaw and he cuts at least 100 keys per day and sometimes more.

One thing I have learned in this business is NEVER to buy equipment on promises, because, invariably, the manufactureres and retailers WILL let you down (not always; but most times).... So; if I am investing a decent sum like £5k, I always look at what the equipment does now instead of what is promised, and at the history of the equipment.

With a machine like the viper (or the BD laser); you know it has been around for a long time. You know that it can be linked to instacode now. You know that spares are fairly consistently available, and you know that you will get a decent level of support when things go wrong (and we almost all experience one problem or another at some point). Neither machine is perfect. But you can be pretty certain of what you are getting, and what the future holds for it.

The A9 has already superceded a machine that has only been around a couple of years; so how long before that becomes obsolete as well? Where are you going to get parts and support from then? How much return are you going to see on your investment in such a short period of time?

If you do some thorough research; you will find one problem after another has plagued the Miracle series of machines. Just this month there has been yet another bug found in the software, and every week seems to see problems with cutting one key series or another. Sure, most (I am sure) are addressed (eventually), but how much money is lost on wasted blanks and lost jobs because it is not up to the task when needed.

There is an old adage; 'buy cheap, pay twice'.... with that in mind; I will be sticking with my BD Laser and HPC Blitz (The total sum of which was a lot less than £30k).

3-4 years max.

My unocode 399 had paid for itself inside 18 months and the triax took about 2 1/2 years if you include jaws, cutters

adapters and software.

We now charge £15.00 inc vat to cut ebay keys on the triax and we do at least 5 a week. (no one else will touch them).

We also cut all the laser keys for the Kia importers, stoneacre and ford in Grimsby and nearly every other garage in the town.

Both machines are used every single day we are open.

  • 1 year later...

Today we have this news from Mr Ho the technical director of Miracle

"I'm so pleased to be able to announce the good news.

WH Software have released a new update today, and the update includes the "Miracle" Machine as a choice for direct contact

Both decoding and cutting are available.

To decode a key by using Instacode, first, press "Cut Key" button then transmit the data.

A9 screen will show the key information, then you can choose what to do, cut or decode.

If you do decoding on the screen, then you can press "Decode" button on the Instacode at any time before the decoding is completed.

The decoded result will appear on the Instacode screen when the decoding is completed on the A9.

Android version os almost completed.

WH software is expecting to release it within next week.

Due to protocol support in iOS, iPhone can't transmit data to the A9”.

This is yet another further leap, making this the best machine in its class for the End Key Cutter

We have a Silca 399 evo and Bianchi sigma machine because we wanted to use them to duplicate all cylinder, car and mortice keys electronically, we've found that our customer often notice and feel they are getting a better service, makes us look more professional and gives us the advantage over the local timpsons shop. I'm not sure the A9 is the way forward if you are looking to do the same with your key cutting business, but as mentioned by John it is a great option if you don't have a way of cutting keys to code and want to be able to provide this service. As we have no way of cutting laser keys to code at the moment the A9 will probably be our next investment.
