Perplexus
I'm looking at replacing our old steam-powered till, and am a bit bewildered by the range of machines on the market! I don't want too many bells and whistles - and certainly no barcode scanning! - just something basic. Any recommendations/warnings would be gratefully received. Michael
I've got a Sharp XE-A202. Very capable but not excessively complicated.Lots of stuff on it I don't use. I got mine from a local company but they are available online. Only problem I've had is the "BEEP" stopped working, I phoned the supplier and it is a known problem with this model. Dust seems to make the key switch a bit sticky, but not a problem to undo and clean
Lee
I've got the Sharp XE-A301 probably similar to the one mentioned, but my beep works. Lovely little till! you can add your details to the receipt, I have departments for Keys, repairs etc etc. which looks professional when you hand the customer an itemised receipt, But isn't over the top if you're not using epos or bar codes. Sharp all the way. Lee

Perplexus
Thanks for the feedback on this, guys. I've taken the plunge and bought the Sharp XE-A303, which seems to fulfil all that I want, and a bit more. Haven't got around to programming it yet . . . but I've got a day off tomorrow! Wish me luck!
