Bio degradable shoe bags

Trying to be seen to be "Green" , we have been using a Bio degradable shoe bag from our wholesaler , however we are now changing back to a normal bag due to problems with these , seems that when you get halfway through the box you hit the faulty ones , these just fall to pieces in your hand when you try to put the shoes in them .

This is very frustrating , and does not create a good impression when the customer is standing at the counter , this is the second bad batch we have had , although our rep assured us after problems with the first that this was just a "one off" .

First batch went in the bin , this batch is having a trip to Sandown , so if you see them floating in the air on the Car Park do not be tempted to pick them up !

We just binned our first lot , so as not to get tempted to try to use them , sadly no credit offered , but this time we have kept the offending articles , our rep is very reluctant to accept any returns ,he has problems returning items to the warehouse , so what chance to we have ! .

However we know just where to take these this Sunday , so someone at the top can see the problem.

this months offer sheet from Charles Birch had an offer on it, where you got the bags free depending on the size of your order. It was because of the problems with the bags degrading to soon.

Nice to see they have took these of general sale & aren't throwing them away either =D> common sense

Whats the point in giving faulty bags away free ?, would really piss me off if i did a big order just to get free bags only to have the same problems .

Don't put up with it. Aim it back at the rep and get any refund you are due.. His problems with the warehouse are not yours as your contract is with him/his company, not his supplier.

I have dealt with large quantities of tangible items that have deemed to have been "sold by sample" (although not shoe trade)

As the name suggests, the finished delivered goods should reasonably match the sample you were shown originally. That is not to say you won't find one or two bad apples, coffee beans in your consignment. However, if you find lots of the products are failing then you are entitled to a replacement, refund etc.

The samples that reps hand out to us (in all trades) are well worth holding onto for a few years.. you never know when you may need to compare.

I only wish I held onto a few wagon wheels and curly wurlys. I am sure they are much smaller, and I know it has nothing to do with me growing as I was still munching curly wurlys' when I was 18

Sounds good, One problem is that we don't always see reps. And to send 2000 or so bags back to the supplier would cost more than the bags cost ](*,)

yes confectionary shrinkage affects us all.

ladies pu top from odell are now much thinner and key heads have been reduced in size by some company's it seems like everyone is importing from china

buy british. while i'm on this subject why have no english leather sole tanners tried to beat renenbach i know ware have their birch exclusives but for many of us we disagree with birch and their repairing shops so we do not order from them. why don't the british tanners go to trade shows and try to capture this very lucrative market that is here and take a leaf out of rendebachs book. the jr people really do produce a top quality product, thats head and tails above every other sole out there and the marketing to go with it.

dasco have got behind england well done =D>

I didn't send my bags back they are aware of the problem just ring them up and they should credit you, she told me to bin mine and I still got a credit \:D/

Yeah thats right. Faulty goods that they delivered its up to them to collect. Not your problem (unless it takes up too much space of course)

There is some legal aspect about taking care of the faulty goods for a number of months until they have chance to pick them up, then after that time you can do what you want with them, including, wait for it.... selling them.

I can't remeber the time limit but if anyone is interested then i will dig it out.

They should give you a credit as soon as possible, not when they collect their goods. This is usually not an issue and you can work within their collect and refund system, but again, if they start messing around and days turn into weeks then I would inforce.

I had some of these bags that were falling apart on the shelf. I rang CB and they said they'd send a replacement pack, which arrived a couple of days later. The replacements were the same batch number, same manufacturing date (Dec 2007), with the same problem! They've gone in the bin with the first batch, but they don't have any others! Now awaiting credit note!
