"top of the league trophies"

Recommended Posts

Glenway products are excellent although I have had issues with supply and carriage is a bit hefty. As for "top of the league trophies" I've had a couple of annual shields off them and they were not too good. Going back to Glenway's carriage 6 small boxes £35.00 hurts a bit. Maybe we need a Cjm of the Glenway world to sort things out and listen to us

Martin, your problem with profit and postage is a valid one, but no different to most suppliers either. You all want the best price and you all want it yesterday. No problem with that, but it has to be picked from stock, packed using packing materials, processed through the system and invoiced, THEN it's posted or carried. This all costs money and has to be factored in by price of item OR by adding as p&p.

Too many people forget about the 'other bits' as WELL as the actual postage/carrier cost [-X If we applied a labour cost to some of the goods we sent out, it would be a lot more than the £8-£11 average

All suppliers try their best to minimise additional costs, but it's not always possible to reduce it to zero or close

how many times has someone said to you "HOW MUCH" and "YOUR ONLY SCRATCHING A FEW WORDS ON A BIT OF METAL" when you add engraving charges to their trophy bill. they don't realise what this cost covers. unpacking delivery, sorting out what trophy goes with what order, unpacking each trophy, decifering engraving instructions with the rosetta stone as a reference, puting plates on, puting centres on, re packing each trophy, popping the inflated packaging bags to scare co workers, packing up order into box, having the customer pull box apart to check enraving and then re-packing it for them.

imagine the faces of the customers if we added labour :smt103

what if you only ordered once a week? ask your suppliers if they could keep an open box that you can add to until an agreed cut off point

maybe worth a call to see if you can work something out

 maybe up your engraving costs slightly to offset carriage, 50p each extra on a dozen awards.......... :smt045
