Iain
Good morning chaps. Does anyone have a picture of the 750SP? It's looking like we may have to consider a new machine in the near future and i'd like to start some research now. Cheers.

Iain
Thanks Keith, I'll go have a mooch round. We have already seen a Hardo unit we like but it won't hurt to have a look. While i'm here, does the 750SP run on single or 3 phase? Cheers,

Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
Nice web site Keith, as a matter of interest what do the number and letters mean in the 750sp. also is this new machine out of the Standard Stable or did it originate out of Whitfield. I ask as the number seems to follow on fro W.W 700. Looks a very saleable machine for confined spaces.
The Hub
Nice web site Keith, as a matter of interest what do the number and letters mean in the 750sp.also is this new machine out of the Standard Stable or did it originate out of Whitfield. I ask as the number seems to follow on fro W.W 700. Looks a very saleable machine for confined spaces. Hi Hugh I'm sure Keith won't mind me answering for him on this one (I hope!) Thanks for the comment about the site, we do try to keep the site interesting and regularly updated, and it's always good to get feedback. With regard to the numbering of the 750SP, the 750 relates to the width of the finisher in millimetres. As to the "SP", we believe this was derived from the word "Special", and was attached at the time of the machine launch as a bit of marketing blah-blah. You are correct as to the origin of the name - it was dreamt up at absolutely no expense during Whitfield's days. The machine was developed to fill the gap in the market where our usual machinery was too large, and has been sold extensively to small shops and kiosks etc. The 750SP is built new at Kettering and is available in single or three phase, and in any colour, and we always have one with us at the Cutting Edge Exhibition (end of advert!) Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
Interesting reply thanks. The 700 had nothing to do with size though did it?
keithm
You mean our 1275 model Hugh
Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
Very good Keith Took me a while to twig does it cause confusion (does for old blokes obviously) 700 then 750. 750 is a measurement but 700 is not! Is it time to rebrand with Standard models/numbers or would this itself cause confusion.
petercoulson
hugh, change the model numbers no no no. where would you stop? change the names of the lynx, power unit, ideal? a 700 is a 700 and always will be, we wouldnt call it anything else and let me see, we could call the astra van the vauxhall 3450 van, the ford focus could be a ford 2785, now i can see sense
Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
Nah Peter, thiose names such as the Lynx (loverley cullers ) were supplied by Standard as was the Power machine. 700 was the old WHB as was and refered to a series, 750 is a size reference number. I say rename all of em old (and newer)WW machines. give them fancy names that can be recognised. 16/18/75/100/200/500/700/750 are hardly names that bring a picture to the forefront of your mind, while Lynx etc bring up rounded edges and vibrant colours. keithm
Grey is worse than 70's heel bar orange Michael As PC says, changing names is a definate no, no. The 700 is the most recognised finisher in the land and the country is full of them. Changing the 700 model range by name alone wouldn't sell any more units but may in turn confuse a few olden's like you Maybe we'll call you 'used to know it all' as UK900, IS 'know it all'
