ironplanet uk900
I like both, so will stock both Wares are flexable and are good for none stitched as well as stitched, I like to stitch on my JR's and customers do ask for them. Lee
I am also using both. The JR for me "feel" superior & is my choice for ladies always. But for the reasons UK has stated I pick between the two brands for gents. Lee
Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
Having felt a pair of JR soles I dont think I would like to rely upon Adhesive alone to hold these soles. A bit to strong for that, methinks. I think I would have to Rivet them on Using Brass of course due to the Oak Bark in the Tanning.
windycity
hi i changed over to wares ex and think that they are great to work with and use them as my normal leather soles, but hope that they last as long as the wares gold. i use only jr for through soles though and the same as you lot ie if the customer asks for jr, i really like jrs heel unit but do not stock them as i find them too expensive compared to the price of wares lock tip 1/4 rub. which makes them nearly double in price. ironplanet uk900
Well I am Shocked Just had my third delivery of wares exec's Just opened a fresh box of size 11 5.5 gauge, through soles. And to my disbelief, I can't find a good pair in the box. Stretch marks, scratches, dark and light patches all over them, even fur on some of them. Differing gauges. How disapointing.......... Hope this isn't going to be the trend now the honey moon periods over. Because I for one am not paying premium prices for inferior goods.

Exactly the same thing happened to me over 25 years ago but I thought it would be improper for me to mention it as all the reviews were excellent. Perhaps it was just a bad batch!! A similiar thing happens to most products, they the manufacturers bring out a remarkable product that everyone likes then demand outstrips production of the quality product and lo and behold the inferior products get mingled in with the best. The Chinese used to be the best at this they just send all crap after viewing superior products from the sales people. Probably changed now that they are a huge market force now though. Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
On an Exhibition 2 or 3 years back JR had 2 different types on show, the standard rock hard ones and a flexible one that I was told was easier to cut. Perhaps when ordering from your supplier you should ask for the Flexible one that is easier to work with.

Michael
Thought that I might dip into the Executive soles market, what sort of extra price do you guys put on for these soles?
Michael
Had a customer in yesterday with 2 pairs of identical mens shoes for leather half soles so I thought I would do a little test.I did 1 pair with Wares gold and the other with Wares Executive. What a difference! Executives are much nicer to work with and give a far superior finish. I,like WindyCity, am considering using these as my standard soles as they are so much nicer to work with. For about £2 a pair more I would rather have my work looking and lasting that much better

But sending one pack after another is not the answer. The answer lies with Wares.
