Guest Iain Cheall
A local team I sponsor has won an award and I offered to make a plate for them to comemorate it. ( silly me ) It is to be deep engraved on brass and the image below is what they have asked for I have vectorised it and I am in the middle of tidying up the image when a thought struck me. How the hell am i going to infill the club badge. I can't decide what will be left unpainted and what to paint. one route i am thinking about is just to diamond drag it and paint it but i think that will look pretty poop so anyone got a hot tip of the day please ps anyone got the font on the club badge please
ironplanet uk900
When you've set the job up on your computer and your happy with it. select the areas your going to infill, say Black and engrave those areas. take the job out the machine and infill them, let it dry and polish. Do the same with the blue etc.... It takes time and you have to be carefull, but the outcome is superb uk900

Guest Iain Cheall
Just thought i would give you an update on this. I have finished tidying it up and hatching the areas I can automatically with gravo98 and spent an hour or 2 going goggle eyed drawing in lines manually where it won't. I have decided that the black area at the top of the shield and the yellow dividing lines around the shield will remain as untouched brass with the roses outline infilled white and the circles fully coloured in the yellow/red the outline of the shield infilled in black. this is because gravo won't hatch these areas and on the several times I started to manually do them it ended up looking like a dogs dinner so I am going to start today to engrave darkest colours first will take pics as I go. Guest Iain Cheall
major blushes with this job. I have been so busy with one thing and another I kept putting this off ( well it is a freebie ) but I engraved it this afternoon so now I just need to start with the painting process I have chickened out on the main logo and I am leaving quite a lot as plain brass... Nicky says I should leave it all unpainted as in her opinion brass plates look cheap after they are painted...funny girl I know but I married her so what does that make me ow she just slapped me
busy bee
Iain, Have you got a picture of the finished article?
Guest Iain Cheall
It is painted at last, I have had lots of problems with this with paints running into each other and with all other things going on at the moment round here. I have kept putting it off, but as the club are having a big celebration do on sunday night I have to have it done for then. I just need to drill and countersink the holes, polish it and mount it then I am handing it over tomorrow so they can get it on the wall in time. but here is how it looks at the moment
