Shoe Repairer Forum

Recommended Posts

As every other shoe repairer on the planet, I have the obligatory six spoked hole punch. Now that we have the warm weather the sandal wearers amongst the women are coming in and asking for that extra hole to be punched in the straps. The smallest hole punch on the wheel makes a hole larger than the others on the strap. Is there a hole punch on the market that makes smaller holes? Has someone out there come up with a suitable solution? That is apart from using a nail!

Cheers folks

We use one of these

It's a brilliant tool and cuts very cleanly, five sizes of hole.

I can confirm that this is one of the best small tools I have used, I bought one quite by chance off e-bay a couple of years ago. It would appear to be a Surgical Instrument it is so well made. Worth every Penny.

Once told a customer couldnt punch a hole in her belt cause the wholesaler was out of holes till monday they didnt realise i was taking the p*** and left the shop before I could do anything. The guy I used to work with told me she came back on the monday and had the belt punched.

Lol!

I've had some beauty's with customers, but the best one was someone wanted a sign engraved "the stable". Fair play, easy done - but then came the humdinger. I was asked in the exact words "Have you got a horse's head?"

Quick as a flash, came my reply - "No its just the way I comb my hair"!!

Cue customer putting phone down and never dealing with me since.

I guess some people just don't have a sense of humour!
