kobblers
my idea was not to actually retail them, that is unless they want to buy them, but to fit them to a few samples and the next time they ask if you have one of the rarer blanks in a funky key then you can accomodate them just by placing them on yourself. i'm in the process of getting a quote from a company that supplies tough round labels for printing onto via a laser printer. i figured if i could make my own then i won't be restricted to having to buy a load of the same pattern just to keep the costs down. the labels come on sheets and are laid out in rows of about 6 by 20, hopefully i'll be able to produce a different design for each row of six offering me more flexibility. i'll let you know how i get on with this, i'd be quite happy to supply anyone on here with them at a very reasonable price cheaper than those ones you can already buy at any rate

StevenB
I've got Davenports Stickeys, & have sold quite a few. Thet are great for where a funkey is not possible & at £1.00 are a good loose change seller. How much more does anyone else charge for Funkeys? I charge £1 more across the range, getting between £3.50 & £5.75 for them depending on the key type. This then matches the stickey price.
Lee
I have never bothered to even stock fun keys, and have never actually had them requested however Davenports (my supplier) do a point of sale display board which I did consider. Not always been a fan of novelty stock, always worried about 'dead' stock. do you shift them? what percentage of key sales evolves into a fun key sale? which ones are the best sellers? Sorry to go 'of topic' but its already been mentioned! Lee

Lee A good way to 'sell' fun/colour keys is have them on a display board with a nice range as well as a plain one, when customer comes in with their key just ask what colour they want, some people will say ' are they the same price' but 80% will pick a fun key. Prices really does depend on area in my experience , I was easily getting £5.99 for a fun key in cliffton Bristol a couple of years ago where as in pontypridd was lucky to get £2.50. petercoulson
just a word of warning - the stickers you are talking about with the hole were created by a shoe repairer who has invested a lot of money in the idea and naturally has patented the idea. i don't know what the patent covers but assume it must be the size/design as davenports are a different shape so be careful as you have advertised your intent to make some you may want to check the patent first
