I need a key for a 2000 Y-reg Renault Kangoo.

I can cut the transponder key & program with my 883 machine, but now the remote central locking has stopped working on the key & it's not the battery. This means the back doors can't be unlocked. :( Not good as the child seat is obviously in the back.

What are my options, can anybody help, or do I have to go to the Renault dealer?

Oh yes, did I mention it's the wife's car, so I've got to get something sorted... [-o<

This means the back doors can't be unlocked.

Use the central door locking switch forward of the gearshift

2000 Renault Kangoo.

remote central locking has stopped working on the key

Does LED illuminate?

Does it transmit RF signal?

If no to the above then slide the remote case apart, remove board & check the micro tactile switch connections on the board, if off the board or bad joints, resolder.

If yes to the above then you need to resynchronise remote to vehicle.

KANGOO RF RESYNCHRONISING

1. Turn Ignition OFF.

2. Press the central door locking button for more than 5 seconds.

Note : The door should lock then unlock.

3. When this happens, 10 seconds is allowed and the immobiliser warning light illuminates.

4. Press the remote control once, the doors should lock and unlock.

5. Repeat for second remote if required.

6. Check the remote control unlocks and locks the doors.

Top advice Tel, I opened up the key & hey presto, this is what I discovered:

Now to find someone with a soldering iron fine enough to re-attach it for me!

Fair play to Steven, following my emotional black mail he duly made a donation to just giving!

Now we are nearly at £150 for the Make-A-Wish foundation, which would be enough to buy a mini tuxedo for a boy wishing to be James Bond.

Thanks Steven
