I used to use a table saw, which was cheaper/easier to get than a varga saw
less safe though, you can't be dumb with it or you'll run out of fingers fast

mine is an Evolution Rage s5, around £300 - can cut 2mm brass with the supplied blade (probably less suited to the v thin metal trophy plates, I'd look into a guillotine for those)
now I have a co2 laser cutter which is amazing for cutting plastic engraving laminate eg Rowmark Metalgraph (not metal)

A varga saw would be nice, but personally I'd sooner put that money towards a CNC as that could cut sheets down to plates, but also carve wood signs which would add another service to my roster.
