Ewanda
It is best to use original keys. If we have no place to buy them, we have to use other blank keys. Try to answer the question: Does the key slide into the cylinder? If it slides into the cylinder and does not open, the cutting height may be the cause. A duplicate key may have a different arrangement in the cylinder. If you can, cut the key based on the channel. On SILCA machines this is position C or D on the jaw. Ewanda
The logo on the key and the arrangement of channels show that it is the same key profile. I suggest buying a few pieces and checking them out. The purchase cost is low. Worth a try.
rapidlocks
yes ian firth makes and manufactures gridlock products , gridlock is there patented brand product range , a quick check on compaines house on gridlock confirms this to still be the case. Ian used ( may still do) to own part of a factory in wushi in china , i was lucky enough to visit the factory there and have a few nights out with ian some years ago in wushi with the director of uap as they used same factory for some products , this was on way back from visiting mr li and lishi. seeing the process of making cylinder locks from begining to end was eye opening and the speed and accuracy of the staff pinning cylinders to keys was impressive . grahamparker and Growster
