I decoded this key for an online customer from their image and it's not working.

I read it as 3314122 but am now wondering if the last digit is wrong

The buyer seems to think the cuts are too near the collar but I've never encountered this and I've cut well over 50 of these key blanks.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Rick.

Thanks. The issue was I think I inadvertently used the lightning flash symbol, resulting in the key being cut too deep.

I'ts not something I normally do, unless the cuts don't look deep enough on a new key,  so must have hit it by accident.

I don't have, or know much about, instacode and cutting cards etc. Do you do all your keys that way? Seems a bit of a ballache for a simple copy of simple key?

Rick only gets photos of the keys from Internet sales.

Mostly with the codes, but not always, so I supply the original code for their log book to make it easier for future sellers. If I can't get the code, I supply the key blank and bitting.

I've still not figured out what that little lightning symbol actually does - I just know that if the key doesn't look deep enough, that I have to recut it using the symbol. I twould be handy to have the machine already know and cut accordingly.

I'll try to explain...
If wishing to clamp a double sided auto blank in jaw A, within the rebate and not with the blank edge against the jaw.
Then the machine needs to know the blank position in relation to the cutter, The lightning symbol would then be deployed, press go to start cutting. The carriage will then move towards the cutter, the cutter will sense the key, it will then start cutting the blank in that position.
