3 phase converter repair

This converter blew up. Bang, spark and then smoke. Was only using the 700 on the small heel trimmer when it happened. Anyone good at repairing these ? 

I have a Hardo too with a converter that im using at the moment but i would like to have this one sorted too.

That was supplied by Motorun in Teddington but they no longer exist so I think you will struggle to repair probably better to replace. There are many capacitors inside the box it might be worth opening and see if there's one that has blown and replace but that could be a nightmare as well

We were single phase. Can you not get 3 phase installed, I did years ago when I moved a 3 phase machine in. cost about £400. I have no idea what it would cost now though.

A fortune. more like £3k!!! And it would likely take weeks or months!

Cost us £2500 to have 3 phase installed in another shop we once owned about 20 years ago. Needed a 20 ft channel cutting and filling which they had to do.

Think £400 must have been in the 70's Gray

I asked 10 years ago when i moved in this shopping centre for 3 phase. They quoted me over €5K. And it would take months.

Until the early-mid 90s we were still under (loosely termed) nationalised electricity rules and at the time if you wanted 3ph it was roughly £400 as Gray said and that would cover having to bring cables up to 30' including under pavement but with privatisation rules kicking in it's as much as they want hence it's now £1000s
