grahamparker
Had a similar issue with mine and got a massive quote from Gravograph to fix it not knowing what the issue was. Took it to a local Electronics repair company and the owner who is also a great friend of mine, they said nearly every fixing Nut/Screw/Bolt was loose underneath so strip the cover away and check all these first before calling someone in. From your description it does sound like the micro switch has failed/snapped or broken internally. stevecoco

End of travel error on a laser and the bed moving down usually means your auto focus flexible sensor is stuck up. Clean the auto z mechanism first. If it is currently moving upwards then the limit switch bottom left has been damaged. Contrary to popular belief we do try to diagnose issues before quoting high figures for repair and about 60% of the time can fix things over the phone. stevecoco
Yes that's the first thing I did. Still doing the same. If you have facebook messenger I could actually show you what it is doing. Is there a magic reset back to factory settings button. I cannot afford to pull anymore hair out. lol

stevecoco
Finally fixed my machine. Not for the feint of heart though. Got my trusted volt meter out found a broken circuit to one of the microswitches. One on left in the black truncated flexible tubing. Wire was broken inside, re spliced it. working fine. Col
Hi there. Have also got this problem but it is only now and then, but I also have a focusing problem, this used to be only occasionally but now its permanent, when I send the job in, it dosnt move the bed up the get the focus, it just stays were it is so I have to manually focus the bed into the right height this is not a problem when engraving flat products, but when I engrave a curved glass and need it the re-focus every line it's a nightmare any ideas anyone Kind regards
beware
The first thing to check is if the auto focus works. If it works it's probably just off in your jobs. To test, move the head over the bed with the arrow keys, then press the auto focus button (two triangles and a square on top of each other). Be prepared to turn the laser off if something goes wrong. Col
Ok thank you, But now it isnt working at all, When I switch it on , the screens says (SETUP) as normal, then it says (SETUP) with (FPAG 2.0) below it, and then the bed goes down about 2 inches to the bottom and comes back up 2 inches and stops, and then the head goes to the right about 2 inches and stops with a slightly longer bleep than normal, then it does the normal 2 bleeps after and comes up with the screen saying (ERR. END OF TRAVEL) I have had this before, and it was the flapping part on the focusing was stuck up but that is fine, any idears? beware
That sounds more like your X axis limit switch, or a wiring issue. Best to email the office and an engineer can call to discuss. Support.uk@gravotech.com
Col
Ok thank you, I will do that, which switch is that one? Kind regards Colin
beware
I'm not an engineer I'm afraid. It will be in the top left, it sounds like it might be stuck in - the head *should* move left until it hits the switch and then move right by a predetermined amount. So if it's moving right, then the switch is active when it shouldn't be.
