Sharpening Machine

I was on this site earlier today and while I was there, I had a look for the sharpening system I used to use many moons ago and I know it has been recommended by a few here, but here's a link for anyone that might be interested in it, it's a great piece of kit:

I have used a Tormek for 15 years excellent piece of kit BUT DO NOT leave the water bath on the wheel even for 20 mins get into the habit of removing as soon as the job is finished else it cocks up the wheel AMHIKS

I love my Tormek.

When you buy one the first item inside the box you see is a little yellow wallet. On it are the words "be careful - Tormek sharp is very sharp" and inside is a pack of plasters!

Had mine a few years now, cracking bit of kit.

I've just replaced my grinding wheel, and as I do mainly hairdressing scissors and cooking knives I went for the SJ-200 Japanese waterstone.

At 4000grit it gives a razor edge and a mirror finish without honing.

Highly recommended for knives, scissors, chisels etc.

I've got the T3 but I think that has been replaced by the T4!!

Depending on budget, I would go for the T8 if I was buying again.
