wellsy9
I replaced a broken remote case on a Chevrolet Orlando 11' plate yesterday and the customer has brought the key back today as the remote is not working. I was careful not to damage the circuit board when removing it from the old case. Transponder is fine but remote is not sending a signal. Will this need re synchronised or re programmed? Any help would be much appreciated? I have attached a picture of what the old case looks like.

jacko
Was the remote working, sending a signal before you changed case?
Count Muppet
I had this on a 3 button version. Turned out it was the battery contact, the one that is already in the case not on the board. It was touching the board slightly and shorting it out. I put some tape across the board to stop it happening and all was fine. Obviously I didn't cover the pad where it is supposed to connect with the tape. grahamparker
Also check the battery voltage.
wellsy9
The remote was working before i changed the case. The first thing i did was check the battery and it is fine. It is just not sending any kind of signal now. I can't see anything obvious that would stop it working and i am stumped.
canoncan
Agree with previous opinions. It'll be the battery connector that sits on the back case. It only needs to be fractionally wrong & remote doesn't work. Take the key apart & adjust this until good contact is made with the circuit board & all will be good. wellsy9
