meatball
Evening all, Recently I've replaced the battery in said watch, went out all good, next day customer came back and the battery was dead, so I put another new battery in and now the LCD display is FUBAR. Also I think said customer is trying to have me over as one of the fixing screws are now threaded and won't screw in, but I know this to be fine when it went out. My question is could someone recommend somewhere to send this for repair, as the quotes he's given me are I believe somewhat inflated, Many thanks in advance and any help/ contacts would be greatly appreiciated Craig
Count Muppet
Have you made a note of the model or case numbers? You may be able to replace the watch for less than the repair
Lee
I thought the wave cepter range where solar powered? They don't have batteries if that's the case, but capacitors.......... If you did put a battery in that's why it failed. Another reason for quick battery failure on a radio Wave watch is if you didn't A/C reset it? Although again. It's been a while since I did one of these so can't remember if it has an A/C terminal.
Mike at Vauxhall
I think it's about half and half between solar and more "traditional" battery on wave range. Definitely follow lees advise on the a/c though. Unfortunately if it is broken, the only place that can repair it ( if you can't replace it.) Is casio. Not the best situation to find yourself with Xmas coming up. Good luck.
Count Muppet
Not all of the waveceptors are solar powered. They are the ones that set themselves overnight. Most models are very cheap though and if you know a Casio supplier they will be able to get you a very good price for repair/replacement.
meatball
Thanks for all the replys, Yes it did have a battery and I did do the ac reset, I just put it down to a duff battery, as I'm sure you all have the odd one, but on removing the back that's when I realised he'd been in it as one of the screws just fell out. Not to worry, I'll let him get it repaired and see what It comes back as, Really appreiciate your time and replys, Craig Mike at Vauxhall and Lee
Mike at Vauxhall
Those casio wave watches really are one watch to be wary of. Personally, never while you wait and price them fairly hard and high. (£10 plus)

Mike at Vauxhall
Lee did mine for me while I waited - works fine The only reason I would break my "not while you wait " rule would be if you were a pretty little sort, wearing a little mini and had a great rack.
