Forest Cobbler
Hi Have any of you come across Tamaris boots with anti shock heels? We've had a pair in, and the customer had a picture on her phone of the internal make up of the heel. She is asking that a thin layer of the existing top piece is left behind to protect the shock absorbers when they are re-heeled. Something we've never come across before. Paul_
No afraid not, but I can remember shock absorbing Mens heels that were available about 10years ago. Called something like spring backs? They were quite good but sold awfully!

Valerie The anti-shock part of the heel is simply a soft rubber layer under the top-piece. Just leave it in place when you fit a new top-piece. If I remember correctly Spring Backs were marketed by Healys in Yorkshire but only made in Gents sizes.
Count Muppet
The ones I've seen in the past have a thin grey layer. Scour down to that level. Just leave that on then add a new top piece. You cannot staple or nail it, it must be glued only. I can't imagine the technology genuinely works, but like religion, those that believe in it can not be convinced otherwise. Forest Cobbler
According to the boss, the picture she had on her phone showed a transparent 'mock up' of a heel block, so you could see what appeared to be more shock absorbing stuff going on inside the heel, as well as the thin layer under the top piece. I've searched online but cannot find a picture like it, only a range of Tamaris footware with anti shock heels, but no info to explain exactly what they are. Just so we're clear, this is a picture of a very similar boot and heel shape. Thanks, Valerie
