kobblers
I'm counting on you guys to advise me here I'm about to move into a hew house and it has a set of PVC patio doors that don't seem too secure. Do any of you know of anything decent that I can attach to the interior of the doors to stop them being forced open in the middle? Cheers, Rick. Count Muppet
Sash jammers would be a good start. Easy fitting and cheap, they should do you until a better idea comes along.
chrisorros
Upgrade your cynlinders & handles. (Mul-t-lock xp personally for the cylinder) Checkthe mul-t-point locking system is smooth working. If it does catch check the mushroons, hooks ect ect for marking. The door might have to be realined. (Screws on the hinges, right for up left for down). See if the door has hinge bolts. (Can be intergrated in the hinge) Add Sash jammers. A real extremes upgrade the mul-t-point lock or replace the door.
Mick Friend
CAll on a professional locksmith - and ask Get the name and if possible the model of the MPL's and ask some are good some are crap- upgrade crap - easy enough with tools and knowledge Replace cylinders with a decent make all to the same key - if possible replace handles with secure ones - but not all sizes are made yet fit an alarm - again an easy DIY job with the right kit. Don't adjust any door unless you know it needs doing and know how - its fraught - been to too many now - pisses me off how many experts you can find to tell you how but none of them want to comae and sortout the mess
