Simes
Just had a guy park his car in the free all day parking outside my shop come in and ask the price of a cylinder key. I quoted £3.50 and he said it's cheaper in town and left! It's 3 miles into town from me and no free parking! Good luck with that one pal!

mrkeys
My cylinders are £3.50 think that may change very soon \:D/ Had a guy come in for a ford 3 button tibbe key. I quoted him £110 programmed to the car within 30 minutes, his reply was ooh that's only £20 cheaper than up the road. No thanks I'll go to the other guy and get him to order me one. So instead of having it done the same day as I had the key in stock he went up the road and waited for my competitor to order one, went back a few days later using more petrol and paid £20 extra for the privilege. Nearly as mad as the guy that went to the dealer because I was only £40 cheaper =D> =D> I swear that some of the folk I have to deal with are direct characters from The Royal Family
actionman
Yep, some people just have no idea. I've had quite a few jobs lately where i've turned up & it's not been as they've said. Car battery totally dead or engine fault & hasn't run for months etc I also had a guy who's roughly 100 mile away moan at me when i quoted him for an Audi remote & added cost of fuel into the quote. My price was still cheaper than his local delaership by about £30. He said "bloody hell, Audi don't charge much more than that!" so i said "well Audi aren't going to have to do a 200 mile round trip & if they did they'd be charging easily double what they normally charge for a remote!" His next comment was "oh, yeh, i suppose, when can you fit me in?" Worked out worthwhile as I ended up remapping his car as well!
ponsaloti
Had a customer walk away last week. I quoted her £140 for a remote Beetle key and £30 for a repair case. She said I was too expensive because VW only charge £200 for the key and £60 for the repair case.. Strange days indeed.
actionman
£60 cheaper is still too expensive??? oh dear! i'v had somebody call me several times over the last 5-6 weeks. He wanted his megane key card reprogramming as the car wasn't accepting it so i told him it was faulty & would need replacing. He asked if he could buy a 2nd hand card off of ebay & i said no, it needs to be brand new or have had a new virgin chip fitted. So he says ok then a couple of weeks later he phones me up & says exactly the same again so i tell him again the card needs to be new. Then finally he's called me today at 5pm saying he's bought another card & can i come program it. I ask if it's new & he says no, he bought a used key card off ebay! So i tell him for the 3rd time that I can't program him a used card from another car & tell him i've told him that everytime he's phoned. All he says is "oh, ok!" I ended up giving him a bit of a stern lecture about not listening etc which usually i wouldn't do but sometimes you can just tell on the phone that some people are going to be a total PITA to do jobs for. Anyways he then decides he wants me to supply & program him a new key card! I say yes no problem but i go on holiday on Tues so it will have to be when i get back as i haven't enough time to fit him in before i fly. He then asks if i can do it tonight, erm..... Saturday night, no! going out for my birthday. He then asks if i can do it Sunday morning. I say no as i'm out for my birthday & will more than likely be over the drink limit till well into Sunday! He then says what about Monday morning, so i said, no, i've just said i haven't got time before i go on holiday. He then asks if i'm free Monday afternoon! Some people just do not listen! I'm hoping when i do the job that's not 1 of those where I wish i hadn't bothered!
