StevenB
Anybody got any idea what to use to get ballpoint pen out of a light coloured suede jacket?
Gray
Rubbing Alcohol (Surgical Spirits) I believe having had a few searches. Don't blame me if it doesn't work though. Also I heard hairspray.

Pinkcoke
For anybody that's interested: Grandma's trick: take a wide fine grade nail file and lightly go over the suede repeatedly until the area is a similar shade to the unmarked areas. Kind of works like a rubber, blow away the bits as you go to avoid smudging the colour back on. You must be careful not to create a much lighter coloured patch! It does work with finer suedes better but no reason it can't work quite well on standard length suede with care. Natural oils/dirt from handling and wear will restore the treated suede to it's original shade/tone. Worked brilliantly on a pair of 1940's nubuck suede heels I had that I carried in a bag with a pair of navy leather shoes, not knowing the latter had been treated with either navy shoe polish or cream!!! Gray
Probably work in much the same way as the Woly suede cleaning blocks (Gum Velours) . Those are very good too. Oh sorry how rude of me, welcome to the forum Mel.

Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
Meths. Use a Cotton but and keep twirling it around on the one spot first... it draws up the ink into the bud. Used this method hundreds of times on Bags/Shoes/Coats including PVC items and cloth covered furniture, just keep replacing the cotton bud as it gets soiled.
