zippo lighters

Just wanted to double check, I have always sold zippo's to anyone that wanted one but would only let over 18 buy fuel. I can't find anything on the net to say this is ok or against the law. Anyone know?

Depends if said 18 year old is an arsonist. Always ask first.

Thats what we did when we stocked them,we would'nt sell any glue/lighter fuel/aerosol to anyone under 18.

So you would sell them without fuel? I can't see what harm a zippo without fuel could do, unless you threw it at someone.

We do the same ...we see a Zippo as a `Collectible item` and as such no probs to under 18`s .....any fuel to over 18`s ONLY

 

If we are in doubt(as when we sold a Zippo Blu and fuel) to a suspiciously young looking 19 year old ,we ask for I.D which we then photocopy (he WAS 19 by the way) - I know you can get fake I.D`s but at least we can say we followed a reasonable protocol - if asked by parents or police !
