silca EH head

Hi Ive just tried to cloan a Ford KA 1996 key onto this head ,Ive neveer had this problem before but it just dosn,t work ,Any ideas while I,m waiting for new heads to arrive .Thanks

Ive just had a call from Lee at Silca & the Silca head will not do any of the Ford KA & some of the Ford Fiesta ,Silca know of the problem .

Just had a call as well apparently its only the new ones with the yellow insert,the blue ones

are still ok.

 

Got peed off had 4 fail last week so my new Zed bull should hopefully be here today.

I have problem with the yellow EHS2 too. SKS contacted Silca on the matter and I´m now waiting for their responce. The blue one worked fine. I tried to copy a Toyota key, so its not about the car, but the new EHS2 head.

Wizer are you saying that the toyota didn,t work ? because Lee told me that it was only Ford KA & some Fiestas on the yellow head.

Yes. I recently run out of them old heads, and this was the first I tried to clone on the new yellow head.

Sks said they had one other customer that had the same problem. I have an upgraded rw2 + tex code, so does he.

The Toyota key was 2 gen. tex so I use PC to program it.

Maybe its time to upgrade to JMA. But I´d rather do that a little later.

WHAT bad language, Search the forum for the same word i found loads of other references to it.

 

In fact if you use the search engine its amazing what language has been left un-edited.

i don't know what was edited but will say, the mods have probably edited far more than they've left & its a thankless task maintaining the highly respected site we've now got.

 

If you get a post edited, please don't take it personally by knocking whats happened. given the tens of thousands of replies on the site we ain't always going to be reading or noticing everything, but do try to keep the site legal & clean for everyone to enjoy.

I agree totally with you Lee and i must admit i was offended but in hindsight i appreciate

how difficult it must be trying to police every single post.

 

I just didn't think the word i used required editing but i will endeavour not to use that word again.

 

It offends me the ammount of bad language in society today especially in young kids.

Has anyone tried using silca eh heads in the Bianchi 883 I just tried to copy info from a eh (yellow head) & put it onto another eh head & it seemed to have worked

The programming always seemed to work but just wouldn't start the car.

 

I have now got a Zed Bull so i am waiting for one of the ka owners to call back in i am then going

to try copying to the yellow eh2 using the zed bull as well as copying onto a tpx2.

 

Will let you know how i get on but silca are frantically trying to find out why they don't work and

what they have done to cause this problem.

 

Thay make the most fantastic key cutting machines but do seem to be falling behind everyone

else in the transponder market.They are rumoured to be working on a batteryless solution but they

may be to late into the market place now.

 

This isn't the first problem they have had with transponder problems back in the late ninetees

they sent out a batch of t5 chips that wouldnt program to the megamos chips but they did eventually

find the cause of the problem(all chips had BO and i think EO as the starting code number on the chip).

All where replaced but it caused loads of problems for us.

tpx2 is the way to go, although I have heard even with these on some KA's specifically there can be problems. but I think its year specific. I've never had any ford fail on the tpx2.

we are using AD900 pro's and have been having problems with TPX1 chips on Ka and Fiesta. we use TK24 instead

Been told by AK, the 900 is now sorted for KA and fiesta

To copy a 4C transponder you need a TPX1 OR ZED4C

With the Zedbull use a ZED4C

they are cheaper to buy and I have had no problems copying Ford KA keys with them

I have had problems copying some when using A TPX1

i can confirm the ad900 latest update has cured the Ka to tpx 1 , i did 3 last week all good

Has anyone got any further updates on the issue regarding the yellow based EHS 2?

 

My current theory, is that part of the problem is down to firmware updates, as it's only been reported as an issue with RW2+Tex Code module or RW3 running the PC software. Is anyone still running an older firmware version on their RW4/Fastcopy machines and if so, have you encountered any problems with the yellow based EHS 2?

I have an rw4 with the latest firmware and also a fast copy at our other shop with older firmware

and neither of these will work with the yellow eh2 heads.

 

I contacted Lee and Matt at silca uk,but they have had no feedback from silca(italy) as to the cause of

the problems with the yellow head.Have also had a fail on a 96 escort so i think it may be

down to the t3 and t4 emulation as we have also had a fail on a toyota.

 

I have since bought a Zedbull and it is fantastic, but i have a load of eh2 blades i want to get rid of, so as soon as

i can get any further info from silca i will post the response on here.

 

I would have thought dpower or someone else may have commented by now and as a silca user

for the last 25+ years i am VERY dissapointed that i was the first customer to bring this to

silcas attention yet i have to ring them to see if they have any news.

I also contacted Silca & got the same thing At the moment I,m using an old Bianchi 883 with an update but will be looking at a Zedbull (whats the build quilty like?)

Build quality is good and it has a lot of tricks up its sleeve.

 

Tried to copy a pt cruiser key today on the rw4, counted all the way to 99 then failed.

 

Tried the zed bull 2 minutes later a programmed working key.

 

Superb piece of kit with masses of expansion if you want to.

 

Given the choice i would have this over the rw4 every day of the week.
