Guest allen-uk
Back last June I asked your members for help in finding an 'old-fashioned' shoe repairer. Your recommendations and assistance led me to one of your members, who gave me specific advice about my shoes and problems, and offered to fit soles himself (which the orthodox trade down here in London had pooh-poohed as being impossible). I won't name him as he seems an unassuming man, but I will says this. He is a TOP cobbler, a credit to the trade - and when I tried to give him ten quid on top of his quote for a drink, he sent it back telling me to donate it to your site instead, which I have just done. So, I have the shoes I wanted AND my faith in human nature restored. A good start to the year. Regards, Allen, London.
Lee
A thank you also has to go to you Allen, as most would not have told us the outcome to the story, or honored what was asked & made that donation. Just such stories are why I am proud of this fine industry. To the "Unnamed Cobbler" its good to see the industry still has some fine examples! \:D/ Lee
