earlsdoncobbler
a customer was telling me about a web site sell pu`s and brass heel tips to the diy shoe repairer i have not seen brass heels before and they have pink p u`s http://www.heeltips.de/index
StevenB
They also have the funniest PU repair tutorial possible. Tale out an old PU wit water pump pliers? I doubt many DIYers will have much success there, they'll just mash up the heel & then bring them to us fo a proper job. I currently get quite a few come in which were supplied with a spare pair of heel tips, but rarely have they even bothered to try & fit them themselves. The only problem I forsee is people expecting us to stock the pink heels or other odd things we can't get through normal trade suppliers. Given how many times I've been asked to do pink stillettos in the last 18 years (0), it's not too much of a worry at this stage...
Iain
It's always a funny when a lady appears with a pair of stilettos with the pins mashed up. You can see that the man stood behind her has had a go himself and buggered it up. When asked if they've tried to remove them, they always seem to glance at each other then shake their heads. Then, when you grab them and remove the pins so expertly, they appear to be in awe! Always a pleasure
toofatbyfar
weve had that iain,, also get the ones that bring in the sticking jobs that they have obviously tried to bodge them selves, then when asked, " have you tried to stick this with super glue" , liar liar,
kobblers
Never mind the superglue, it's the bath sealant brigade that tickle me Rick.
Guest ARGH
If I see another Biker with 'No-Nails' on his units...and +1 for sealant for bathrooms...Carpet glue's another (one dodgy repair geezer was using this when he'd failed to pay the suppliers)...or the SG brigade when the heel block needs a correct nailing job..and its all torn the upper...ARGH!!!!! I understand the cheapness for repairing a shoe, for the publics own self...but ....but.....ughhhh...It dont half make our lives bloody harder!!! Ive sold S-O-S in packs, but does anyone here sell the heels?

Guest ARGH
well it gives me the egg......along with... Bloke finds his shoes comfy, loves them to death, wants them repaired...they are minced, but nowt a Fully stitched leather and re heal cant fix,I explain and sell the extras,later.....I find...SHE thinks he's mad for paying 'X' amount because she can get it done someplace else (for a half LS ,glued and tacked at the waist,it falls off in 3 months or after a half decent shower) and where Darwins theory is REALLY up for question, for sweet fa cost.....anyways I find this out later,so I take work in,do the job..and bloke never returns.....I just know they've had a row in the car home. And who's doing womens stilettos at 2 quid a pop?...Because "At the other place they do them for that..." .Which I know they dont...or have...EVER!!!! Sorry,I need a quiet lie down....... I wonder weather people have really understood if we have gone decimal?
Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
I saw a repair shop advertising ladies heels for £2 couple of weeks ago. I doubt it would be the only one. Made this sign very many years ago. DIY Shoe Repairs. Why do it yourself then pay 3 times the price we would have charged to get them fixed. Our work is guaranteed!!!! Is yours? Guest ARGH
Question is...Are they any good? Ive seen a fair number of cheap jobs and the finished article has "50 penced" the top piece and half the heel block all caught (I know and use tungsten cutters,it just takes a little bit of patience). I know Im no god,nor have I a vast ocean of experience, but really I dont know anyone the repairs worth the salt at heel tips at £2 a throw.
