chas47
On small Jewellers Brass plates, what type of cutter should I use. I am new to engraving, as you can tell from my question. Thanks.
Gray
depends on size of plate and size of font

chas47
Plate size is about 60 mm x 20 mm, with no more than 2 lines, font type... Arial, with black infill. Thanks
Auto Key Wizard
I use a lot of Jewellers Brass & lacquered brass , but never use cutters. I get the best results from the use of Drag, Rotating or Burnishing diamonds depending as RLJ says on Font & character height used. When you say black infill are you referring to brass blacking fluid?
Gray
If arial i would probably use 0.04mm - 0.06mm cutter with black infill
chas47
Thanks for the replies. Yes.. TeL200..Blacking Fluid. Cheers.
Michael
If you want to use black infill cellulose paint you need to use engravers brass, minimum 1.5mm thickness, cut to a depth of about 0.3mm. Jewellers brass normally just for burnishing or drag diamond as Tel says....
