Mike at Vauxhall
Got a local furniture restorer requiring a key for this Victorian lock. I've order a good selection from HD, but would love any suggestions. Mike.
grahamparker
Are the sides open so you can see operation ?.

Doubt if it's welded, it looks like it's just riveted on, file the rivet heads a little and the back plate will prise off. Cut a key to the lock replace backplate. Ian platt
Impression a key for these start with correct pipe size then file height then width so it starts to turn then file to suit normally quite easy. Or take apart by separating case by nocking the flats threw to open up
grahamparker
Rest the body upside down in a vice then punch the flats gently they will just tap back in when you have made a key. Simple enough job.
