kobblers
We've noticed that a lot of the high heels, now, especially the ones with 0.95 and 101 pin tubes have a reinforcing rod inside. What's the best way to extract these or drill them as the heel has worn down too far, sometimes, to take a new pin.? I'm reluctant to use electric pliers on them as the heels are usually bloody thinner than a waif on a diet. Cheers. Rick. mrelf
St.Am92
What I do is scour 2-3mm the side of the tube and gently apply a little heat, not so the block starts melting. Gently teist and out it comes. I tend to remove the reinforcing pin and cut it half before reattaching.
SteelCityShoes
If you’re lucky, some will knock through the insole and can be pulled out from the inside, or they may even just knock down to the bottom of the tube. Other than that, a cup of cold water and a high quality drill bit.
