ponsaloti
I have a few office furniture locks to make keys to. Code 36085. LF2 goes in nicely but because of the stepped shoulder, it sits on the piss. A mirror of LF2 would work better but cant find it anywhere. Any idea's Tar. ponsaloti
Thanks EST just ordered 20 but my gut feeling is it needs to have both shoulders to locate squarely in the lock.

ponsaloti
Thanks but it looks like it needs a stepped shoulder.
grahamparker
I'm an idiot, i have just realised what the problem is as i have seen it many times before. There is a raised groove inside the lock down the bottom that guides the keyblank in and keeps it straight, if forced they break off allowing the blank to push off to the side rather than staying straight. Only had it on L&F locks that use the LF2 blank so i reckon the issue is the lock rather than the blank. If you remove the plug and put the key in you can lift the wafers out of one side just by applying pressure to the key head. Lock Stock
ponsaloti
That's what I saw on the 1st one I stripped. Red Herring. Thought I was using the wrong blank so I looked for something that would register better. Thanks Graham. I'll make the plugs lighter.
10ringo10
Sounds like the JMA LF28 - small side warding in lock 95-97 - 87-91 or 36 series fits same as LF2 just as the small grove on flat side of blank... no wonky keys anymore or filing
