Growster
I am just making A5 Evva open section keys to code on a Silca EV10. The keys will only work, if I cut them twice. There is no unusually deep cut. I am stumped by this. If this was a calibration issue, the machine would never get it right, would it?

Lock Stock
How old is your cutter? If your cartridge speed is set high/fast and using a blunt cutter, that would make sense. Also I'm also assuming your using silca EV10? They are steel keys which won't be either
Matt@Silca
As mentioned above, the most likely cause is that your cutter has lost its edge and is unable to remove enough material at the current cutting speed. You may be able to slow down the cutting speed in the options and be able to cut the key in one pass for the time being, but you will likely need to replace your cutter soon anyway.
