Mike at Vauxhall
I'm not taking a holiday this year, instead this week I am just taking the afternoons off. On Thursday I text a customer saying his watch is ready, but I will be closing at 1pm today and friday. Customer texted back saying "thank you, I will collect later today". I replied , just to once again inform them that I am closing at 1pm today and friday. Why did the customer just phone me at 5.15pm, wanting to know why I was closed. Dr. Shoe
Because they're prats. I really do think that they do it deliberately. kobblers
k4mrc
I think that you are doing yourself no favours at all by opening just for the mornings, your customers will understand if you close for the whole week or few days, all you need to do is place a sign advising when your going to be closed about two weeks in advance. they will wait and come back and more so appreciate your hard work. Mike at Vauxhall
By opening from 7am until 1pm , I can still cover the very important morning commuter rush and the less important lunchtime rush. All I miss is the financially least important evening commuters. This way I "take a holiday" but still take 70/80% of the money I would normally take. My wife and kids are still only on breakfast by the tome I get home, so we can still do something as a family. StevenB

Mike at Vauxhall
Customer came in shop. He us elderly and gets confused by texting and technology. I was wrong to judge him, now everyone is happy. ironplanet uk900, Autotechnix and kobblers
CBPTerritoryManager
Great Story & all well in the end. Some days I really miss working your side of the counter - though having just spent 4 days at a trade show selling, I don't think I could do all the standing up any more; I forgot how tough standing up all day is on the feet! kobblers
Mike at Vauxhall
Don't worry about me, I guarantee you I spend 70% of my time having a bloody good sit down, with endless tea. CBPTerritoryManager
