Simes
I'm just taking advantage of a few moments slack time to check my key machines and make comparisons between the originals and keys I'm cutting on different machines. I believe my keys are cut pretty accurately and I certainly don't get many keys back. However, I'm frustrated that it does happen several times a week and I want to try and minimise this. Using digital vernier calipers my accuracy of depth is between 0.05 and 0.1mm (Cylinder Keys). Is this acceptable, good, excellent, or something else? Spacing seems more tricky using calipers so I usually set the machine so that the blade barely touches the shoulder. Any advice or views?

Lee
Agree with craig I am almost suicide if I get 2 keys in 2 weeks back.
Count Muppet
My main trouble is poor quality key blanks. Pay cheap, get crap. A badly set machine is a must in our shops. Simes
Simes
Not a problem on my Futura, just my copy machine. But that said, success can't be judged by the number you get back because that will depend on how many you cut during the course of the week. I.e 1 in 100 is a poor result compared to 1 in 1000. Auto Key Wizard
Not a problem on my Futura, just my copy machine. That's easy then...Cut a cylinder key to code on Futura, then use that key to calibrate the manual machine. Futura accuracy is +/- 0.005 mm Kris Polan
