customer not happy with lockdown

this is strange as the chip / new key is a CLONE ONLY - so for example if this was key number 7 you clone the number 7 key ONLY - so the car will see only clone - original key number 7

A much stranger thing is:

I have never come across a PSA vehicle yet with more than 3 keys coded.

The maximum is 8, but to have 7 keys coded to the vehicle, they would need to all be coded under one diagnostic session.

Yep, the 8 keys coded part is a load of rubbish.

Hi

had a Renault mascot which is a ldv re badged did 2 keys for it which was tp05 was fine for 6 months customer lost one went to use the spare started once and never again . called Renault they said it was a key problem ,then spoke to ldv they said it had to many keys on it and had to be diagnostically deleted then the 2 new keys added . the original still worked I even changed the chip to try that . nothing happened but original worked ,

.

Still strange , I have never heard of this as a Clone Key being to many - Yes Diagnostically you have a Maximum of chips but Clone, in theory the car / van has No idea how many clones there are out there ?? :!: :!:

I concur. A clone key isn't programmed to the car it's a just a clone (identical to the existing programmed key) The vehicle doesn't include it in it's count of programmed keys. Sounds to me more like the clone didn't work in the first place but was riding off the back of the existing key and was tested before the immobiliser had time to reset? I've made that mistake with diagnostically programmed keys before.

that's what the dealer said so if I don't pay him is it a court case shall I have a go at it and see.

The problem is that the work is now done and there is no proof of what the problem was. But in reality every time you programme keys to PSA, the keys clear down.

So the dealer is in effect saying that the last time keys were programmed to this vehicle that the customer had 8 keys, which we all know is rubbish.

The customer must be quite careless to have lost 7 of the 8 keys by the time the came to you.
